3 Things Adele Did For Her Dramatic 100-Pound Weight Loss

Last Christmas came as a pleasant surprise for Adele fans, as she posted a picture that showed she has lost about 100lbs (45kg) of weight.

Adele was spotted on her Caribbean holiday with James Corden and Harry Styles. She was wearing a floral dress that shows her dramatic weight loss.

She met some of her fans on her holiday, and confirmed the same while talking to her “Superfans”, saying that “it’s such a crazy experience.” One of her “superfans” Lexi Larson told People magazine that “Adele seemed really confident.”

She did it all to save her voice

Adele’s new look and new lifestyle is mainly for the sake of her voice, and there are three main things that she did to lose 100 pounds in a healthy way.

Adele had a vocal hemorrhage in 2011, after which she started to consider switching to a healthier diet and a healthier lifestyle.

She said in an interview to Australia’s 60 Minutes:

It’s f***ing boring, but I don’t think you take your voice seriously until you’ve an accident.

She also said:

I’m frightened all the time I’m going to damage my voice.

Change #1 – Getting rid of sugar and alcohol

After Adele’s son Angelo was born, she started changing her diet – just to take better care of herself. She stopped having the 10 cups of tea and other kind of caffeine that she used to take daily. She also stopped drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, and got rid of all spicy, citrusy, and tangy foods. She also drastically reduced the amount of sugar she used to take daily.

This helped her lose more than 28 pounds in the coming time, as she started to shed more weight in order to improve her stamina and performance on the stage.

Change #2. Adopting the Sirtfood Diet

Sirtfood diet is a unique food programme that helps people fill up by eating plant-based food, leafy vegetables, fruits, buckwheat, and other kind of natural food sources which are low in calorie.

After splitting from her husband Simon Konecki, she hired a fitness trainer and started on an exercise plan. Although, Adele hated the exercise as said by her trainer:

I don’t believe she liked exercise much but she has changed her lifestyle and I believe that 90 per cent was dieting.

Adele did stick to the plan and got fitter, but she always said that she will never, ever enjoy working out.

I mainly moan. I’m not, like, skipping to the f-cking gym. I don’t enjoy it. 

She also added that she has had physical discomfort while exercising in the gym, and lifting weights.

I do like doing weights. I don’t like looking in the mirror. Blood vessels burst on my face really easily, so I’m so conscious when I’m lifting weights not to let them burst in my face. And if I don’t tour, you’ll catch me back down at the Chinese!
