8 Things To Expect In The USA As Joe Biden Takes Office As The 46th POTUS

Contrary to our expectations, Donald Trump did not put up the last fight and he left the White House as Joe Biden took oath as the new President of the United States.

It was expected after the attempted coup on January 6th that Trump supporters might attempt to attack the inauguration ceremony, but the day passed without any unfortunate incident.

So the 46th President has been sworn in, what can we expect? Has fascism really been defeated? Let’s find out.

#1. The stock market will boom

Liberals in the USA are ecstatic about Joe Biden as the POTUS, and the stock market has already started flourishing. Even Elon Musk’s rise to being the richest man in the world was only made possible because of Joe Biden’s victory – investors started taking an interest in Tesla’s stocks since it is expected that the Democratic government would pass relatively pro-environment policies which means the sale of Tesla’s electric cars is likely to increase.

However, a flourishing stock market has zero effect on common people’s quality of life, and we already know that the trickle-down theory has been debunked as a gargantuan myth.

#2. Policies that help women and LGBT people without addressing the core issue

It can be expected that the new presidency will usher in an era of LGBT-friendly policies along with pro-choice laws when it comes to abortions and the body autonomy of women.

But as long as healthcare remains inaccessible for women, and the gender-based wealth gap continues – these policies will be nothing more than mere lip service.

#3. A $15 minimum wage?

The government has also floated the idea of a $15 minimum wage, which is being strongly opposed by the corporations who made trillions in profit just last year alone. So we still don’t know how long it will take for the $15 minimum wage to be implemented, although this demand is being made since 2008. The current demand is that the minimum wage ideally should be $25, considering the cost of living in most American cities.

There are numerous roadblocks in the way of a minimum wage that ensures a livable standard for the citizens – and we need to see what Joe Biden will do about it.

#4. No more Medicare For All, no canceling student debt

On the other hand, the common consensus in the Democratic party is to drop the Medicare for All proposal, while strengthening the imperialist policies of the US as continues to invade other countries. The promised cancellation of student debt has also been thrown in the trash can as the debts keep mounting.

#5. What about kids in cages?

Liberal outrage about the “kids in cages” has already died down as Trump is out of office, and it is not expected from Biden that he will put an end to concentration camps.

#6. Corporate prison complex that runs to make a profit, not reform people

The corporate prison complex of the US will continue the mass incarcerations as they disproportionately jail the Black, Brown, and Latino people while making them work for as little as $0.75 per hour.

Fascism hasn’t ended or even reduced by any amount. Like Joe Biden had already said: “Nothing will fundamentally change.”

#7. War industry of America

Joe Biden’s new cabinet has already hired many “war experts” who had assisted Barack Obama in committing numerous war crimes and human rights violations in the Middle East via military invasion and drone bombings.

#8. What about the Black Lives Matter movement?

American police’s racial bias was already exposed last year as the activists dug up the incarceration and murder data by the Police in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. But the proposals to defund the police have already been squashed, and the idea to relocate the funds into social services has died down as the liberal crowd has into celebration mode – forgetting that there is a lot of work to be done.

As long as the US Police continues receiving a bloated budget, and no laws are made to hold the cops accountable for their racist actions – racial minorities in the US cannot live a peaceful life.
